Description
1st – 3rd Grade Reading Comprehension Passages and Questions.
This product contains 10 INTERESTING READING PASSAGES that target COMPREHENSION and FLUENCY. Each passage has 2 versions.
You can use this product both as a PRINTABLE and a DIGITAL RESOURCE.
You can select the pages you want to assign to Google Classroom!
The students will have to:
•read each text 3 times and color a star after each reading ( for fluency)
•multiple choice and fill in the blank questions(in the first version)
•answer text-based questions and color the evidence in the text
and draw a picture that matches the text(in the 2nd version).
They are designed to improve students reading FLUENCY and COMPREHENSION and target a variety of skills to make the reading experience more engaging and fun.
Story title included:
- Penguins
- Nimo Fish
- Owls
- Lucky is a Dog
- Snake
- Rachel is a Wolf
- Bats
- Elephants
- Tom is a Cat
- Robin
You can use these passages for literacy stations, morning work, or reading homework!
Suggestion:
* Students must read each passage 3 times, so I would suggest choral reading the 1st time, partner reading the 2nd time, and independent reading the 3rd time
* Ask the students to answer each question using a complete sentence
* Then ask the students to read their answer to you or a partner and PROVE their answer by COLOR the EVIDENCE in the text ( the sentence within the text that has the answer)
Differentiation is easy: use the 2nd version to challenge your higher graders. Asking questions is a requirement of the Common Core Literacy standard RL2.1.
