What educators are saying
I loved this resource. It helped my students with academic vocabulary words. This is very important with different types of questions that can be asked on any test.
This is exactly what my 4th graders needed. Many times in testing, it is the academic vocabulary that trips kids up, so this was extremely helpful!
Description
Academic Vocabulary Definition Cards
My students often knew the skill that I was teaching, but they got hung up on the academic vocabulary that was used in question stems. When your students don't understand the question, it is really difficult for them to answer it!
I printed these cards and used them on an academic vocabulary word wall. They are given to you in powerpoint format, so you can also use them as review. I have also included 9 blank templates, so you can add to your collection, if needed.
Each card has the word, an example in a sentence, the definition and a picture for support.
Words included in this list:
adjust
analyze
compare
draw a conclusion
connection
context
contrast
contribute
conversation
determine
describe
develop
dialogue

distinguish
emphasize
evidence
identify
