What educators are saying

We made a class book with these state research papers. The students really enjoyed this and learned a lot!

Description

United States - all 50 states research posters: Enough "All About" research posters for every child to do their own state. Research basic information about each state, plus find other fun and interesting facts.

I have marked these posters for grades 3-5, but please use your best judgment and click on the PREVIEW button above to get a better idea as to what you are purchasing. You may even find they are suitable for older kids.

This pack is saved as a powerpoint file. Just click the slides you want to print.

Grab your media specialist, get your computers ready, and have fun learning about each of the 50 states.

Perfect for a literacy center or a whole group activity.Use in language arts or social studies.

*********NOTE: Please, if you notice any errors or small typos, send me a message before you rate the product. I can usually have things corrected fairly quickly :-) Thank you ahead of time.

=============================

These print on 8.5 x 11 paper, but I have had many teachers use a poster making printer at their school to increase the size.

On each state poster you will find the following:

** For their own name there is enough room in the bottom right corner for them to write it.

**Title: "All About..... " and then the state is listed

**State Bird- students will name the state bird. An illustration of the bird is there for them to color. They can refer to a picture while doing their research to get the colors. NOTE: some posters have similar looking bird images, but they may need to be colored different colors. For example, more than one state may have a Cardinal.

**State Flower- students will name the state flower. An illustration for the state flower is there for them to color. They can refer to a picture while doing their research to get the colors.

**name the state tree

**name the state song

**State Motto (if your students are not familiar with a motto, you might want to go over the definition)

**State Flag: an outline of a flag is there. Students will need to research what the flag looks like and design the flag to match.

**population

**Year admitted to Union

**Area

**capital city

**Region

**States that border

**The abbreviation for state

**An outline of the state

**Outline of all states (US): students will find their state and shade it in.

**Important Resources

**Famous Person from the state

**Space for other fun and interesting facts they find.

*****In addition, I have included 2 styles of writing paper if you want your students to use their research poster to write a formal paper.

One page also has a place for them to design a commemorative stamp representing their state. The other one has a camera and two photo outlines for them to illustrate or glue down snapshots of their state.

=======================

Your students are sure to have a blast researching their state!!

The finished product will make a beautiful hallway or bulletin board display. You can even use the cover in the pack as your title page for your display. :-)
