Description
Objective: Students are give an acute angle and 2 sides (SSA). They decide how many triangles can be formed (one, two or none)
Sorting activity: 12 cards with an angle and 2 sides. (4 cards each --> can form 1 triangle, 2 triangles, and no triangles)
Included in this activity:
- 12 cards
- Sorting Mat
- Key
- Direction page - with an example explaining how to determine how many triangles can be form.
- Walls that teach poster with the rules to determine the number of triangles.
Alternate Ideas
Interactive Bulletin Board: Place magnets on the back of the cards and place on the black board. Student can work when they get done early
Whole class activity: Give every student (or pair of students) one card. The student(s) determine how many triangles are formed and explain to the class their findings.
Possible Uses:
* Review Station
* Homework Alternative
* Check for understanding
* Math Stations for students done early
* Bell work
* Individual or whole class activity.
