See a description of the problems below. It could be used as morning work, homework, or even as a warm up for math class on April Fools' Day. Use this math activity in your classroom however you would like.
This math sheet designed with fourth graders in mind, but it could also be used as a basic review for fifth graders. See the skill list below to decide if you think it will work for your students.
The problems cover the following concepts using the digits 4 and 1.
Rounding two large numbers to the nearest thousand's place, ten thousand's place, and hundred thousand's place (the numbers have the digits 4 and 1 in bold)
Write the number 41,687,217 in expanded and word form
List the factors of 14 and 41. Color the prime one red and the composite one blue.
Write an improper fraction for the mixed number 4 and 1/4
Write a mixed number for the improper fraction 14/3
Solve a April Fools' Day themed word problem using yards and converting it to feet.
If the time is 4:01, what time was it 3 hours and 29 minutes earlier? Also, draw the hands on the clock.
Draw a line of symmetry on the E. Color the E brown. Now you have a 'brownie'.
Figure out the missing number pattern, which as the number 4 and 1 in the pattern. (double each number)
4 sided polygons are called.....
Using the date April 1st. Color the letters that have right angles. Tell what kinds of angles the A has.
Add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers with 41 in them.
