What educators are saying

I wanted to complete this activity during our area unit, but we just ran out of time. I will definitely incorporate it next year!

Description

This Array Bot multiplication activity is perfect for a math center activity during your workshop time. I created it for my beginning of the year 4th graders, and it has worked well. This robot activity will help your students meet the common core objective 4NBT.5 - using arrays to represent multiplication, explaining multiplication using arrays.

========================

This activity could also be used to introduce multiplication to third graders. objective 3. OA 3

In this activity, students will use the array-bot (robot) parts to construct the robot on paper. They will glue the parts down, and while doing so, they will fill in a skill sheet showing the multiplication problems that represent the arrays. If the students glue the array-bot on to large white paper they have the option to add other details around it. Be creative!

This activity makes for a cute hallway display.
