This box and whisker plots color by number activity includes two print and one digital version, offering engaging and versatile practice, while adding the mindfulness, wellness, and quietness coloring brings.
- Coloring in math has been shown to help reluctant students feel more comfortable with math:-)
The box and whisker plot problems require students to identify:
- First quartile
- Median
- Third quartile
- Interquartile range
- Range
- Minimum
- Maximum
- Number that would be in each quartile, based on a number of students surveyed (in Version A only)
- Data in terms of percent (25%, 50%, 75%) (in Version A only)
This easy-prep box and whisker plot resource includes:
1) Two print versions:
- Print version A
- Problem sheet with 20 questions (more challenging than Version B)
- Coloring sheet
- Print version B
- Problem sheet with 15 questions
- Coloring sheet – same pattern, different color scheme than Version A
2) One Google Slides version:
- Same problems and same coloring as print version A
- Students type their answers in the answer box
- Students use the ‘Fill color’ bucket to color the shapes
- Questions are not editable (they are in the background) but the shapes and numbers in the pattern ARE movable.
