Description
This is a 24-page lesson on Categories and Nouns that takes a few class periods to complete. It is great for young students, students with developmental or communication delays, and English learners. First it explains what Nouns are and how labels are important to know. Then it covers the concept of Categories and how we group things to make our communication clear. Many examples and opportunities for expansion and elaboration are included in the teaching phase.
Last are 8 different engaging and interactive activities to reinforce the concept of Categorizing. You can select what works for you and your students. These have been used in the classroom with great participation and success and requests to do again!
