Christmas Partner Poems

These Christmas Poems are a set that includes 10 poems for partner reading. Each poem has sections for reader 1 and reader 2, making it easy and fun for the students. A fluency rubric is also included so that you can rate students or students can rate themselves on their reading fluency. The poems are printable, easy to use, and require absolutely no prep!

Topics included in these poems include Christmas, Santa, decorating the Christmas tree, snow, spending time with family, presents, and more Christmas topics!

How to Use
Regular education teachers, intervention teachers, tutors, parents, and special education teachers could use these poems to help students practice reading and increase reading fluency.

Partner poems can be used in a variety of ways and for various age/grade levels. These can be great reading fluency practice, as students can practice their parts over and over again. Here are some simple techniques for incorporating partner poems into your classroom:
- Make a packet of all the poems for use at a literacy center.
- Have several different literacy centers with one poem at each center.
- Make two copies of each poem. Pass them out randomly to the class. Have students find the partner that has their same poem.
- Have students switch parts once they have mastered reading one part.
- Have students use a rubric to rate themselves (or each other) on their reading fluency.
