Description
Use this assignment to assess the following standards and give your students choice when writing about their experience with the Glass Castle. This journal is a great way for students to also prepare for small group or whole class discussion of the book and its relation to psychology, family dynamics, and coming of age topics. This file is intended to be template for students to work on using their technology. I use google classroom to release this template to each student.
This digital version of the assignment can be posted on google classroom and includes a rubric for each entry that can be graded directly on each student's copy by highlighting their grade.
Standards assessed:
- Students will make strategic use of digital media (e.g., textual, graphical, audio, visual, and interactive elements) in presentations to enhance understanding of findings, reasoning, and evidence and to add interest. (SL.11-12.5)
- Students will cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text, including determining where the text leaves matters uncertain. (RL.11-12.1)
- Students will write informative/explanatory texts to examine and convey complex ideas, concepts, and information clearly and accurately through the effective selection, organization, and analysis of content.(W.11-12.2)
