Description

The course “Deaf and Hearing People” analyzes the history of oppression between both the Deaf and hearing worlds and the struggles of those who might try to navigate both worlds. Students take an in-depth look at the history of oppression and social justice movements in both cultures so that they may understand and discuss these histories and how each group is still afflicted.

This product is a 4 page outline for the course with course objectives and assigned readings covering 6 units and utilizing the books "Readings for Diversity and Social Justice" and "The Mask of Benevolence." It was modeled after a course at CSUN.
