Description

Earth Day Math: Celebrate Earth Day by using this fun themed math sheet. This ONE PAGE skill sheet is the perfect way to review some basic skills that all relate to the digits "4 and 22". That's right! Earth Day is celebrated in April, which is the 4th month. It also falls on the 22nd day..... so, the whole page revolves around the digits 4 and 22. It's just a fun way to work the holiday into math.

See a description of the problems below. It could be used as morning work, homework, or even as a warm up for math class on Earth Day. Use this math activity in your classroom however you would like.

This math sheet designed with fourth graders in mind, but it could also be used as a basic review for fifth graders. See the skill list below to decide if you think it will work for your students.

The problems cover the following concepts using the digits 4 and 22.

Rounding two large numbers to the nearest thousand's place, ten thousand's place, and hundred thousand's place (the numbers have the digits4 and 22 in bold)

Write the number 33,422,604 in expanded and word form

List the factors of 22. Tell if it is an even or odd number and whether it is prime of composite.

Write an improper fraction for the mixed number 4 and 4/22

Write a mixed number for the improper fraction 22/4

Solve 2 April Earth Day themed word problems using multiplication. NOTE: FACTS in problems based ON United States data.

If the time is 4:22, what time was it 2 hours and 25 minutes earlier? Also, draw the hands on the clock.

Draw a line of symmetry on the letters in the words "Earth Day". Color 1/2 of those symmetrical letters blue and the other half green. Tell what fraction of the words are not symmetrical.

Figure out the missing numbers pattern, which as the number 2 and 4 in the pattern. Write in the 2 missing numbers. (multiply by 2)

4pentagons, 2octagons, and 2hexagons = how many sides?

Add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers with 22 in them.
