Description
Electricity Bundle: My entire Electricity Unit! With a student workbook! All of my electricity resources are included: Static Electricity, Electricity Readings (6), Ohm's Law, Electrical Power, Electrical Energy and Cost, and Circuits: Series vs. Parallel and Schematic Diagrams. The workbook is a compilation of ALL student pages. Minimize photocopying and piles of papers, maximize student organization.
This bundle includes these AMAZING resources!
An introduction to static electricity. I use this PowerPoint to introduce my unit on electricity. This resource contains a 13 slide PPT presentation that introduces electric charges, electric force, conservation of charge, static electricity, conductors, insulators, charging by contact and at a distance, lightning, and grounding. There are 2.5 pages of perfectly coordinated student fill in the blank notes included.
Static Electricity: Readings and Application Questions: After introducing static electricity, my students always have SO MANY questions about lightning. I've found that my physical science classes have always had a lot of questions about electricity in general. From those questions this resource was born!
There are six readings
- Conductors and Insulators
- Lightning
- Ball Lightning
- Grounding
- Fuses and Circuit Breakers
- While at the Gas Station
You can use these as
- Individual readings
- Read as a class
- Small groups
- Use as stations
Some readings have a question or two at the bottom, or none at all. There is an additional student handout of application questions that cover all of the topics.
Ohm's Law: This resource has everything you need to teach Ohm's Law! A full explanation of the variables, Ohm's Law equation, an analogy, and practice! A handy tool is also given (and fully explained) for students who struggle with math. This resource will teach Ohm's Law for you! Answer key included.
Electrical Power: This resource is part of my Electricity Unit. This resource introduces electrical power, the variables, power equation, has an analogy for student understanding, and practice problems. Print and go. An explanation is included on converting W into kW. The last two student pages contain 13 word problems where students solve for P, I, or V. Some questions ask students to convert W into kW.
Electrical Energy and Cost: This resource is my favorite part of my Electricity Unit. Students are introduced to the equation for electrical energy and cost (Ohm's Law and Electrical Power equations included), walked through an example problem, and then given 13 follow up problems. All answers included.
Circuits: Series vs. Parallel. Tired of giving notes? This resource provides an introduction to the idea of an electrical circuit and what it needs in order for electricity to flow. Symbols are given for the parts of a circuit, as well as an explanation of the differences between a series and parallel circuit. Visuals and schematic diagrams provided. There are questions to help students understand the advantages and disadvantages to each type of circuit. A more complex schematic diagram is provided for students to analyze in order to demonstrate understanding.
Enjoy teaching again!
