What educators are saying

Monet is my personal favorite artist. I loved how this resource gives young students a way in which to connect with his art.

Description

This detailed lesson introduces students to Claude Monet and the style of impressionism that he is famous for. This ready to go power point presentation teaches students about the artist, where he is from, his style of painting and also includes compare and contrast slides that will serve as an assessment as students are given the opportunity to determine whether or not an artwork is an example of impressionism. Included are detailed step by step instructions for creating a Monet - inspired lily pond painting using basic materials such as oil pastels and watercolor paints. Also included at the end of the presentation are student examples, review questions for students and notes to teacher for implementing the lesson with adjustments that can be made for different grade levels.
