What educators are saying

My families loved these!! They were so happy to write these words of encouragement for their student and had multiple families write a letter.
I prepared these for all three sections of 4th grade this year. We got all 74 families to respond and write notes for each day of testing. The students loved the encouragement and many hung onto their notes after testing.

Description

This is an exciting way to encourage your students to do their best on days of testing at school! I do this every year to give positive support to my students during stressful testing. Each day during testing, kids look forward to their words of encouragement from family members who mean the most to them!

How do I use this resource?

Personalize the letter included with the information about your school testing. Pack the letter, envelopes, and notepaper in a manila envelope. Attach the “Secret Mission” header to the outside of the manila envelope.

Send this home for families. If you have parent-teacher conferences before assessments, that is a great way to ensure that students do not peek! And to ensure that everyone get a note from a family member.

When parents send the notes back to school, put them in a safe place. I have 3 days of ELA and 3 days of Math testing in NY, so I usually ask parents to write a letter for the first day of each test for their child to open on the morning of. If a child’s family does not send a note in, I write one.

***I send this home in manila envelopes as a top secret mission for families. I actually reuse the same envelope every year to save time and paper!

***Updated to include wording for parents and adults.
