What educators are saying

This was a great end of the year activity. The students enjoyed the activity on the last week of school. It gave them an opportunity to reflect and think about their first full year of in school person after the pandemic. Thank you.
This was such a good idea! It had a nice variety of prompts, could be used as conversation starters, partner work, or writing prompts. I wish I had more time left in the year to use this, or that I bought it sooner! This is definitely staying in my arsenal for next year.

Description

Make the end of year more meaningful with these 24 end of year fun reflection question cards and writing prompts. Use these cards for morning meeting discussion, with small groups or pairs of students, or for independent reflection to help students think about the past school year. A digital version using Google Slides is now also included.

These cards present an excellent opportunity for students to practice speaking and listening to each other while also promoting a safe classroom environment. Or, use the questions as writing prompts for a fun end of school year writing assignment!

Students are asked to reflect on their favorite things that happened during the school year, things they wish they could change, things they accomplished during the school year, hopes for the upcoming school year, and more.

This resource includes:

  • ideas for how to use these reflection cards with your class
  • 24 cards with end of year questions
  • the same 24 questions on writing paper for you to use as a no prep writing assignment
  • the same 24 questions available digitally (through Google Slides)
  • a speaking and listening grading rubric
  • a writing assignment grading rubric

While students in all grade levels might benefit from self-reflection, these cards and writing prompts were designed for use with your 3rd grade, 4th grade, and 5th grade students (upper elementary).
