Reflect over your 5th grade year......What activities have you participated in? Which was your favorite? Kids always want to share their likes/dislikes, so this offers the perfect opportunity to focus on the likes. It's a collaboration poster titled "Snapshots from 5th Grade". I also like to call these cooperative activities “partner posters”.

With this little partner poster project, students will work together to create a fun and whimsical end of the year memoryposter. These colorful posters make for a fun hallway or classroom display.Partner Posters (also called collaboration posters) promote fun and cooperation. They allow for communication and creativity. Students get to pick their own colors for their piece. The finished posters add bright colors and whimsy to your learning environment.
How many pieces is each finished poster? For this particular partner poster, there are 4 pieces/panels. This means that a group of 4 students will work in collaboration with each other. You can decide how much collaboration you want them to have while actually coloring. For me and this particular activity, I would probably give them time to chat about the year, possibly make a list of some highlights from the year. They can then pick their favorite to put on the poster. If you have a group without four students, you might want to let a student color two pieces or have a couple of students from other groups that finish early to help out with the remaining pieces.
Each child will individually color their part. The colors do not need to completely match. Part of the fun is having posters that are unique with lots of mismatched colors. It makes for a whimsical display. When the 4 pieces are taped together,the finished poster is very cute!
People always love to read what's on a collaboration poster. These posters grab people's attention as they are walking by because they are bright and cheerful.
