What educators are saying

The booklet was great for students to record their practice, and the slides are very colorful and engaging. Including a space for expanded notation let my students discover many of the properties for themselves and a few of them even were interested enough to work ahead.
This resource provides my students with the guidance they need to understand exponents with visuals and practice.

Description

These guided notes are provided in both paper and digitally in Google Slides, great for distance/virtual learning.

This resource help students explore the rules for exponents by writing out expressions in expanded form to make the connections to its simplified exponential form (for the Product, Power, Quotient, Power of a Product, Power of a Quotient, and Zero & Negative Exponent Rules). In the paper version, on each booklet page, after each new rule is established, there are several practice problems for each. The notes are assembled by copying the eight half pages front and back in the order they are provided, to create a a booklet, using two total sheets of paper for each. Once all rules are discovered, there are ten practice problems students can complete on the last page. A complete answer key is included.

The digital version takes students through the same exploration but presented on Google Slides. Be sure to check the video preview for what this version looks like.
