Description

Free Morning Work! Second Grade ~ Language and Math

5 pages of free second grade morning work (or daily review)

This independent work is a great for settling an active class in the morning, after recess, at the end of the day, or as a summer packet!

This is a sample taken from my larger morning work pack. If you like this morning work sample, the 75 page pack can be found at the link below:

Morning Work ~ Second Grade!

In the large second grade morning work pack, the format repeats several times before a new concept is introduced. Only one new area/concept is introduced at a time while the rest of the worksheet mirrors the format the students have been practicing. Therefore, this morning work should remain a fairly independent activity!

Most second graders should be able to work on these independently. This morning work pack begins by reviewing sight words, shapes, and colors. It scaffolds in number decomposition (using the part, part, whole model) and corresponding number sentences. Then, 3 digit addition and less than/greater than is reviewed. Time (to the hour and half hour), money with regard to place value, addition/subtraction, addition and subtraction with regrouping, sentence proof reading for spelling and conventions, and word problem practice is reviewed toward the end of the morning work pack.

**The answer key provides answers for the standard addition and subtraction problems, word problems, and grammar / sentence correction.
