Are you tired of students not being able to identify different types of figurative language? This virtual, self-checking figurative language escape room is just what you need to make reviewing poetry concepts fun and engaging! Students will practice identifying various figurative language that can be found in popular song lyrics.
This reading comprehension activity can be used for National Poetry Month! It is also great for the week before winter break or spring break when students are difficult to motivate. You could even use this poetry escape room as a Fun Friday activity or as part of a substitute teacher lesson plan.
This low-prep figurative language review activity can be used with Google Drive TM or Google Classroom TM. It is perfect for distance learning and going paperless! Kids will have fun while reviewing literary genres and practicing important skills such as teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving.
Students will review the following types of figurative language:
- Metaphor
- Simile
- Personification
- Hyperbole
- Onomatopoeia
