Add some art to your Colonial America lesson with a George Washington Drawing Activity. Great for President's Day too! The lesson starts out with a little art critique of some famous George Washington paintings, where students will explore how the artists show perspective.
Students will:
- Look at famous paintings of George Washington and identify the horizon, background, middle ground, and foreground, along with the overlap, size, and placement of objects.
- Draw a portrait of George Washington.
- Add the horizon line, background, middle ground, and foreground.
- Use size, placement, and overlap to make objects look close or far away.
