Description
I made these cards for our celebration of Shel Silverstein's birthday. We read the book Giraffe and a Half together and discussed rhyming words (for those just learning the skill, we picked out the rhyming words on each page, for those practicing the skill, I don’t point them out as we read, we just review what a rhyme is). Each student then received a set of cards (just print, laminate, and cut) and matched the rhyming pairs. They can also be used to play a Memory-style game in groups of 3-4. The cards each have one word and a picture of the word, which really helps my students that struggle with reading and builds vocabulary for English language learners. A recording sheet is included for student to record their rhyming pairs. A Google Slides Digital Sort version is also available for distance learning.
