This product is aligned with the BC Grade 6 Social Studies curriculum, though it will work well with other regional standards as well.
In this project, students choose a global issue to learn about.
Students will:
- brainstorm possible topics
- identify and explain three significant people/events/developments related to their global issue
- identify and explain four events related to their issue and create a timeline
- identify the cause(s) and consequence(s) of an event related to their issue
- describe three different perspectives on their issue
- analyze the responses to their issue by the Canadian government, an NGO, and an independent person/group and determine the effectiveness of each response
