Description

Strengthen gratitude with over 80 discussion questions and slides! Topics vary from friends to learning and everything in between to help students embrace feelings of thankfulness and gratitude. These cards can be used during Thanksgiving season or anytime of year as a social-emotional activity.

80+ Gratitude Discussion Prompts

Every question embraces a new way to feel thankful about something in our lives. Students will identify what people in their lives they are grateful for, something that made them smile today, friendship qualities they appreciate, and much more.

How to Use

These discussion question cards and slides are a no-prep way to integrate an attitude of gratitude into your classroom.

A few strategies to use include:

  • Use one question card or slide per day to start your morning meeting.
  • Keep in a calm-down area to encourage feelings of gratitude and happiness.
  • Put cards on a ring and read 1-2 during transition or break times.
  • Use discussion questions as a meaningful SEL brain break.
  • Provide as an intervention for students who need extra support managing emotions and focusing on the positive.
  • Give partner/group time to chat and discuss.
  • Post one or two questions a day during Thanksgiving time to create an "attitude of gratitude."
  • Post a question for morning work, allowing students to write in their journals.
  • Post cards as a bulletin board to encourage gratitude.

Integrating Social-Emotional Skills into the Classroom

Every card focuses on feeling grateful and appreciating what we have. Besides gratitude, others skills integrated into these discussion questions include self-love, coping strategies, positive self-talk, friendships, and much more!
