Growth Mindset Bulletin Board: Set math Goals with a Math Mindset

This is a growth mindset bulletin board (math focus) or hallway display focusing on setting a math goal. This is perfect for a back to school math activity or use it any time.

I made this math goals pack to use at the start of the year with my early intervention math kids that will come into my classroom. You can use it any time (not just at the start of the year) you want to focus on growing a positive mindset. I think this is a great way to start the year and to also get a motivational bulletin board display at the same time. This is perfect for any teacher in the upper elementary grades.

When making my bulletin board, I am going to use the alphabet letters included to create the title "Math MIndset". I will then hang the banner at the top of the board. The banner will include math mindset sayings, as well as math related images. Once students write their goal, I will hang the goals on the bulletin board. I am using the concept of growth mindset, but since I am using it with my math students, I am using the term 'math mindset'.

A fixed mindset is one where people think intelligence is static. People think they are the way they are. They avoid obstacles and challenges when they are presented. They don't see effort as a contributing factor to success and they don't want to work hard. They are often threatened by the success of others.

A growth mindset (in my case of this product, it is Math Mindset) is where people think intelligence can be developed. They see effort as path to success. They overcome challenges. They work hard and see good in criticisms. As a result, they reach higher levels of achievement.

This pack includes 100 pages, but please make sure you look closely to see that they are made up of similar pages with different images or letters of the alphabet for display titles:

*Goal Setting Cards - They say "My Math Goal" and have a math themed clip art image on the bottom right corner. Kids can color these so they will make for a nice colorful display. There are 26 different images included.

*Math Mindset Phrases Banner Pieces - There are 15 different phrases that can be used to hang with your display. For example, "I can train my brain." or "I can try plan B if A doesn't work." NOTE: These do say math mindset at the top of each banner piece. These are typical sayings to encourage a growth mindset, but since this is math, I have them labeled as math mindset.

*Math Themed Banner Images- These are 18 different math themed banner pieces (full color images).

*Alphabet Banner Pieces - I have included banner pieces for each letter of the alphabet if you would like to incorporate those in any way.

*Alphabet Pieces - I have also included alphabet pieces that can be used to create your title "Math Mindset". You can also create different sayings if you would like.
