Description

Even answering the most basic wh- questions can be a real challenge for our students with disabilities, but using these included Boom Card teaching visuals to teach how to answer who, what, when, why, and where questions, and then having students practice answering while reading the book helps the concepts click!

With over 60 language tasks, it also allows YOU to take lots of data! TIP: If the child gets an answer wrong or does not choose an answer, model it for him/her. The repetitive nature of this activity is likely to eventually shape a verbal response. Your modeling is key!

Be sure to view the preview and video to see more! Also, you can play the first 4 cards of this deck HERE.

► Regardless if students already grasp wh-questions somewhat or not, this digital, interactive book all about Halloween will give them tons of practice! Not to mention, it is full of basic concepts. Use this boom deck with both clickable and draggable answers to engage your little ones. Of course, children with more limited motor skills can physically touch or respond using their AAC device; it's appropriate for both verbal OR nonspeaking children. The goal is to get the child to pair the picture on the screen with an expressive response whenever possible.

Some of the topics covered in this Halloween-themed activity include:

- decorating the house for Halloween

- picking a pumpkin

- carving a pumpkin

- tools for making a jack-o-lantern

- the difference between pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns

- lighting up a jack-o-lantern
