Description

How to Writing: Informational Writing - How to Make a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich MINI book

Looking for a cute little informational writing activity? How about making a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich!! The kids will love it.

My kids love mini books, and I am sure yours will too. If you keep a writer's workshop notebook, these little books can easily be stapled onto a page. At the end of the year, they will have a whole notebook on a variety of writing topics using all the different genres.

This mini book include 6 half pages with the following writing areas:

*Cover page

*what supplies and ingredients will be needed

*Possible transition words to use

*How will you grab your reader's attention

*Descriptive words to use for specific words, such as jelly and knife

*Words to desceribe how it feels, looks, tastes, and smells

* 2 mini writing pages for them to explain step by step how to make the sandwich. Copy more writing pages if needed.

IF the lines in the booklet are too close together for the younger writiers, use two lines to write the words.

How about having a PB and J writing 'party' where the kids get to make a sandwich and eat it while their friends share their writing with the class. Fun!!

This will make a great little literacy center too.
