Description

I have completely updated this packet and am excited to share with you!

I have created easy to use worksheets for primary students to start researching! Included in this file are 2 separate research books-one for Owls and one for Bats, as well as a general "other nocturnal animal" packet!

I have also included a few extra informational worksheets as well as 2 book comparisons to fiction books about owls (The Little White Owl) and bats (Stellaluna).

Another great topic that can be taught through these night creatures is Fact and Opinions! There are a few days/lessons worth of activities included that are scaffold to teaching those beginners the meaning.

There is also a few lessons/days worth of past and present tense verbs--great for an introduction or even a review!

Last, there are a few "fun" sheets that can be used to wrap up the unit, as well as an invitation to a Nocturnal Animal celebration day--where kids can wear their PJ's, bring a flashlight and spend some time in the dark!

They are completely aligned to the first grade CCSSs.

Check out this blog post to get a little glimpse into my classroom as we used the Owl part: Owl Research!

Updated blog posts will be forthcoming as we finish the unit in the next few weeks!!!!
