Description
This WebQuest takes students to 2 different websites to introduce translations, reflections, and rotations with 8 questions that follow, and an activity to identify transformations in popular logos. The two websites introduce students to the three different types of rigid motions including their properties and objects in everyday life where these transformations can be found. The last activity asks students to identify the transformation that was used to create 7 of the most popular logos. This WebQuest is intended for an initial introduction into transformation. It does not touch on how to perform these transformations or on specific notation involved in the transformation. Dilations are not introduced in this WebQuest as it is not a rigid motion. Great for a flipped classroom!
A link to a digital copy of the assignment only has been added after the answer key to allow for teachers to assign to students digitally.
