Description

I created this little Google Slides™ introduction to help a teacher introduce SCRATCH to students prior to having them start on their computers.

The focus is on the areas (categories, code blocks, code area, and stage) within the work screen, some of the functions of categories and code blocks, a few types of code blocks that can be distinguished by colour/color and shape, and a very quick intro into how they are used to code or make a sprite move.

This is all very rudimentary and you should not have any expectation of full-on coding with this resource. It is simply an opportunity to show kids (or maybe even teachers) what they will be getting into with SCRATCH before they actually do.

The hope is that viewing this as a class, where questions can be asked, students will sit in front of the program with more confidence.

There are some interactive slides that can be completed by the class together or assigned as homework through your Google Classroom™.

Please enjoy and feel free to ask me to add any specific details that may be even more helpful. I can be reached at chuck@chuckscornucopia.com

As always, please view the preview to see exactly what you will get with this resource.
