This resource is everything you could need to help create your Term 1 Report Cards!

In Growing Success (the Kindergarten Addendum) it discusses the role of the Kindergarten Educator as one that “notices and names the learning” each child has shown. This enables educators to observe and document where a child is at in their learning journey. 

The Communication of Learning does just that. It notices, names and provides appropriate feedback and next steps for a child’s learning journey. All reports are written from an asset point of view - what can the child DO and what are some things the child is not quite there yet on.

This product includes:

  • 2 Pages of Guiding Questions to help you start thinking about each child
  • A brief example of how to go from documentation to writing it in a meaningful way that families can understand the significance.
  • 4 Checklists to help you document for expectations PS 1.6, 24.1 and BC 25.1, 26.3 (with accompanying comments found in the comment bank)
  • Comments related to Math and Literacy, Self-Regulation, Belonging and Contributing, and Problem Solving with respective pages for next steps
  • Comments where you can add your own specific examples
  • 5 Example Reports for Term 1 (Year 1 and Year 2 examples for all 4 frames)

It is an educator’s responsibility during reporting periods to identify key learning, growth in learning and next steps. Examples in this resource are purely fictional.
