What educators are saying
My students loved using this last year! Getting ready to use it again this week. Thanks for a great resource!
I used this resource with election day activities. This was a fun and engaging way to talk about voting!
Description
I hope you enjoy this fun voting unit for K-2.
In this unit, the students will participate in the voting process!
This unit contains:
*A mini poster for students to fill out to “campaign” for their favorite snack.
*Ballots with picture icons for students to independently vote for their snack of choice.
*A graph for students to graph the results of the class vote.
Five snack vote-offs are included:
*Chocolate Chip Cookie -v-Oreo
*Goldfish-v-Ritz
*Animal Cracker-v-Graham Cracker
*Pretzel-v-Cheez It
*Pretzel-v-Goldfish
*After the results are tallied, the “winning” snack is the snack the kids will enjoy on that day. This teaches them that sometimes a vote gets the results we would like, and sometimes it does not. However, we must all follow the results of the vote
Also included are ballot box decorations (staple to a box or bag)
Vocabulary cards (vote, ballot, elect, results)
“Candidate” word cards for the students to scaffold the students in filling out their candidate poster.
