What educators are saying

This was a great resource to help teach/re-teach basic Marketing concepts to my Sports & Entertainment Marketing students! I found the information presented so well that I used some of the resources for the Marketing unit of my Intro to Business class!

    Exams, Reviews, ETC

    Description

This bundle includes lessons that will take between two and three weeks and can take longer depending on how much time you have. This bundle also includes an exam, a production cost practice assignment, and a bonus Entrepreneurship slideshow that are not available in the individual lessons--they are only found here in the bundle!

    Lesson 1: Marketing Mix

This lesson takes 1-2 days, and includes a colorful interactive PowerPoint, a student worksheet (both paper and google doc) and a link to a Nearpod activity that goes with the assignment. There are both online and in person versions. The lecture is also available on video for absent students.

    Lesson 2: Segmenting the Market

This lesson explores Target Market and the ways it can be divided Geographically, Demographically, Psychographically and Behaviorally. It takes 2-3 days to teach. This lesson has several ways of teaching it--with a full nearpod, or with the PowerPoint and another Nearpod with activities only. There is a video of the lecture for absent students, and notes can be taken either on paper with a graphic organizer, or on Google Slides.

    Lesson 3: Consumer Motivation

This 2-3 day lesson explores customer motivations--rational, patronage, emotional, and prestige. It also explores various propaganda techniques used in marketing such as cardstacking, name calling, bandwagon, etc. The file includes a colorful interactive PowerPoint, and a student PowerPoint that is used to take notes and find examples of ads online that illustrate the concepts taught. Can also be done in Google, and there is a video of the lecture.

    Lesson 4: Production Cost

This 2 day lesson teaches about how to calculate production cost in Excel or Google Sheets. The first assignment allows students to learn how to do the calculations. A video is included which can be used as the main teaching device or as a supplement, but will also explain to the teacher how to teach it. The second assignment is best to be taught just before the exam as a review. The Excel sheet generates a random set of numbers for each problem so that students must complete the math and cannot copy their neighbor. See the video in the preview of this assignment for an example. A google version is also included, but it is a much more simplified version.

    Lesson 5: Adverts to Adverts

Based on the popular game Apples to Apples, this is a absolutely awesome classroom review activity designed to help students remember and apply the vocabulary words learned in all the previous assignments. This game has been a huge hit in my classes and the students ask to play it again and again. But more, it absolutely reinforces the vocab words and helps students remember them.

    Exam

Included a 28-question exam on all the concepts in in this unit, including a key, as well as review materials.

**BONUS - Included is a bonus and updated Entrepreneurship PowerPoint which explains types of entrepreneurs and points out specific entrepreneurs in history. It also goes over the traits of a good entrepreneur and has a quiz at the end that students can take to determine if they would make a good entrepreneur!

**I have two other games that I use with this unit that are not part of this bundle - Snake Tank and PerSwaysion. PerSwaysion is best played after Consumer Motivation, as it helps emphasize the 14 types of marketing strategies. Snake Tank, a combination between Snake Oil and Shark Tank, is great at the very end of the unit--I actually do it right after the test as a sort of reward for a job well done!
