  • Google Slides & PPT access
  • ‘How to Use’ for the teacher

HOW TO USE:

  • I know you just wanna teach & go with no additional prep on your end, so I created these slides for you!
  • You'll love these May daily discussion questions because they last ALL month, follow a familiar routine, and did I mention that they're SUPER engaging?!
  • The discussion questions include daily themes to help you avoid hectic mornings and build a predictable routine (YESSSSS, finally ;))
  • I've even included a discussion starter as a scaffold for your students who need help speaking in complete sentences.
  • The REAL images help your nonreaders, too, plus it builds context for all students.
  • Simply display the May question of the day on your SmartBoard and allow students to respond (can be whole group, partner share, specified students, etc.)
  • DAILY THEMES INCLUDE: My Weekend Monday, Top Two Tuesday (two versions included-see preview), Would You Rather Wednesday, This or That Thursday, and Fun Photo Friday
  • The best part? You have more than enough for the month! You can also double-up or save the extras to use during the end of the day's closing meeting.
  • I created this resource out of a need for my virtual learners. They were often too shy to engage in discussion using their voice early in the morning, but they all LOVE to use the chat!
  • However, these daily discussion questions have been adapted to work in the in-person setting, too - no chat required; students can simply respond verbally. :)
  • PLEASE NOTE: In an effort to be culturally sensitive, I have NOT included holiday-specific activities in this resource. Instead, you will find general themes for the month.

IDEAS FOR USE:

  1. Beginning of the day/May morning meeting discussions
  2. Use it whole-group and project it on the SmartBoard (students could write responses in a notebook OR respond verbally)
  3. Writing prompts
  4. Brain breaks
  5. Daily check-in
  6. Wrap-up, end-of-the-day meeting

**Please see the preview to determine if these May Daily Discussion Questions best fit your needs.**
