Description

This is a Halloween themed multiplication video (Mpeg-4 Video) that is fun to play for your students any time during your math time.... especially fun in October! It's a great way to practice basic multiplication facts.

You can use it to kick off a math lesson, end a math lesson, or use here or there when you have an extra 5-10 minutes. It is intended to build fluency with basic multiplication facts. It flashes up a multiplication fact between 1 x 1 and 12 x 12. After the multiplication fact flashes up, it gives students 3 seconds to call out the answer and then the answer pops up. You can have your students call the answer out aloud for everyone to hear (which is what I do) or you can have them try to solve it in their head, whisper it to themselves, and then they can quietly see if they are right when it pops up. Either way works.

You can find my other Multiplication Facts Fluency Practice VIDEOS HERE

Because this multiplication facts practice video includes all facts and they are all mixed up, it is probably most suitable for students that have already been introduced to all facts. I will use it with 4th graders to build fluency despite the fact that we work on multi-digit multiplication. This is also the case with 5th grade math. Many are still not fluent with basic facts and can use a 5 minute review each day. You can decide if you think it will work for your students.

Before you buy/download, please read these important facts about this video:

  • This video has some fun music in the background. If you don't want to have the music play, simply mute it like you would any video.

  • Please watch the preview BEFORE YOU BUY :-) to hear the music and get an idea of how the video works. If you have questions, please ask before you buy. I want you to be happy with the purchase.

  • This is an Mpeg-4 Video. Once you purchase it, you will download it and save it to your computer to play. I play mine through windows media player, which is a feature on my computer. This is normally a very simple process, but PLEASE make sure you are familiar with this type of file BEFORE you buy.

  • The video lasts for a little over 12 minutes. I do not play the entire 12 minutes at one time, although you could. All of the problems are mixed up, so I just start the video anywhere and let it play for about 5 minutes each day at the start or end of class. I just pick a random spot that wasn't near where I started the day before.

  • This multiplication fluency practice video can NOT be edited. It has all facts mixed up, so if you don't want the facts from 1 x 1 to 12 x 12 all mixed up, this might not be the video for you.

  • This particular video has a Halloween theme that includes a friendly ghost, haunted house, and graveyard.

*** A commercial license to use the attached music has been purchased. I am not the owner of the music, but permission has been granted to use it through a license agreement.

**Please, ... if you are unsure about anything with the video or you have questions, I would appreciate if you send me a message before purchasing. I want you to be happy with the activity. :-) Thank you.**

Also, if you ever see that I made a mistake or an error, please allow me a chance to get it corrected for you. I can usually do so very quickly. I have two sets of eyes look at everything, but we might miss something here or there. Not much, but it can happen. Thank you ahead of time! It is greatly appreciated. Just send me a message on my Q and A, and I will get it taken care of.

Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number, and multiply two two-digit numbers, using strategies based on place value and the properties of operations. Illustrate and explain the calculation by using equations, rectangular arrays, and/or area models.
Fluently multiply multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
