What educators are saying

This resource is jam packed with all the amazing things to support teaching Native American Heritage. It is amazingly researched and thorough. Thank you for such an incredible resource to support such a crucial holiday/celebration.
This was a great way to have my son finish up our Native Americans unit- with an independent research project.

    Description

Indigenous Peoples' Day is in October, and Native American Heritage Month is in November. Are you ready to celebrate? Honor Native Americans with these biography reading passages about Native American heroes, like Sitting Bull and Sacagawea, whose stories are important to share.

This bundle also includes an easy-to-use research project that is broken down step by step to help your students write a research essay and complete a research project independently.

This research writing project will help your students complete a research project about the Indigenous People who once lived in the area you now live in OR select any Native American group of interest.

Link included with an interactive map to identify which Indigenous Peoples lived in your area.

Your students will also practice gathering important information as they read nonfiction biography content within informational texts. Reader response activities included are engaging and appropriate for upper elementary students, helping you meet important reading standards.

Two mini-biographies are also included! Use these to kick off your studies or to differentiate for your students.
