What educators are saying

This was great for my 11th graders who needed just a bit more practice with combining rational expressions.
I use these in my homeschool with my gifted 8 year old son. It is so great to have these since they are so much better at keeping him interested and engaged rather than just plain worksheets. Thank you for these!

Description

Students will practice their skills simplifying rational expressions and operations with rational expressions. After simplifying the rational expressions, students will then use their answers to color in a picture of their giraffe. Activity is self-checking, as students will know their answer is incorrect when they don't see it on the chart on the bottom of the page.

Students will need to know how to:

  • Simplify rational expressions
  • Multiply rational expressions
  • Divide rational expressions
  • Add rational expressions
  • Subtract rational expressions

Please make sure to check out the preview to take a look at the resource before purchasing to make sure it is the right level of problems for your students. This resource is NOT editable.

Rewrite simple rational expressions in different forms; write 𝘢(𝘹)/𝘣(𝘹) in the form 𝘲(𝘹) + 𝘳(𝘹)/𝘣(𝘹), where 𝘢(𝘹), 𝘣(𝘹), 𝘲(𝘹), and 𝘳(𝘹) are polynomials with the degree of 𝘳(𝘹) less than the degree of 𝘣(𝘹), using inspection, long division, or, for the more complicated examples, a computer algebra system.
Understand that rational expressions form a system analogous to the rational numbers, closed under addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division by a nonzero rational expression; add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational expressions.
