COLORING ACTIVITY

STUDENTS LOVE TO COLOR and students need to be able to use the properties of logarithms. This is a great activity to help them practice that skill. This resource is useful in stations, assigned as an individual challenge, or with an intervention group/individual.

A worksheet of ten questions that require students to use the properties of logarithms to rewrite an expression as a single logarithm.

A graphic design (something fishy) with numbers that correspond to the answers from the worksheet.

Solutions for both the worksheet and the correctly colored design.

Print one page for every student.

Instruct students to answer each question, choosing the best answer.

Using the number of the problem and the correct answer, they color the spaces in the design.

EASY to CHECK If the answers are correct, the design will match the included solution.

If not... they will still have an interesting design.

Assign this activity for early finishers, in math centers, or as a follow-up / review challenge after students have mastered the skill, using properties of logarithms..
