Perspective Taking Skills for Teens - Parts 1, 2 and 3 BUNDLE
Includes:
Perspective Taking Skills for Teens - Part 1
BASiCS for Beginners
This product is intended for secondary students who need to learn how different people may have different points of view than themselves. The social story and activities provide examples that could help students consider seeing things other ways than their own current view. An intentional strategy to start with more neutral and less personal examples was used to reduce potential automatic resistance to different perspectives. Hopefully this will be step one in preparing students to become more open to flexible thinking in circumstances in which they get stuck in rigid thinking.
This product includes the following:
Social Story on Perspective Taking

Perspective Taking Activities
24 Pages
Perspective Taking Practice Scenarios

Perspective Taking Skills for Teens - Part 2
A Deeper View
Sometimes students tend to have rigid thinking, which increases the likelihood of having difficulties in developing and maintaining relationships with others. In Part 1 of “Perspective Taking Skills for Teens“ (previously posted product) the focus was on helping students recognize that there can be different perspectives that people have when looking at the same thing. Therefore, it’s a good idea to be flexible in our thinking and open to more than one point of view being valid.
In Part 2 of “Perspective Taking Skills for Teens” (this product) the focus is on helping students look at more complex social situations that may also be viewed differently by different people based on one’s previous experiences but also differently by the same person once more information is received. In addition, scenarios with student activities are included to guide students in the practice of looking for two or more possible explanations of a situation other than the one they think of on first glance. These exercises help students practice flexible thinking and imagining what others may be thinking of the situation at hand based on their unique experiences.
This product includes the following:
Social Story on Perspective Taking

Perspective Taking Skills for Teens - Part 3
Why Care About What Other People Think?
Part 3 - This product takes Perspective Taking to the next level, helping students apply the concepts learned about how everyone has thoughts about others and how we can impact other’s thoughts about us, both positively and negatively. The purpose is to raise the student’s awareness of how we develop relationships starting in early childhood by receiving food, safety and other basic needs from our care givers who have positive thoughts about us. As we grow, we learn that how we behave can encourage family members and other people in our lives to have positive thoughts about us and be more likely to provide things we need and want, including much more abstract things like sharing, caring, love and belonging. Ultimately, the goal is to help students realize that caring about what other’s think about them can directly affect their quality of life and that students can adjust their behavior to encourage others to have positive thoughts about them.
This product includes the following:

28 Pages

15 Active Student Responding Scenarios
and a Blank Template to Create More Scenarios
