Description

Oh how I love Gustav Holst's Planet Suite! It's programmatic, beautiful, and engaging. Want a tie into Social Studies / History? Study these Roman gods. Want to connect to Science and the planets? Here ya go! Connection to art? There are coloring Listening glyphs included. How about connecting to math? Identify these time signatures or the rhythmic chant in Jupiter's 5/4 ostinato. Relating each movement on the exit slip to an emoji is a nice Social-Emotional Learning component!

This is easily adapted to both in person learning as well as virtual learning. These slides can be used to guide at-home learners by simply linking in audio, but can also guide you the educator during class. When completing listening glyphs, the paper can be printed or students can use the Snip and Sketch tool to color among other apps such as Microsoft Paint.
