Description

Poem Writing Fun! Students love poetry writing with this huge 80 page resource which includes slides and ready to use printables for writing 20 different types of poems. Perfect for young poets and a great poetry unit supplement. Each poem pattern includes 3 slides: one explaining it and how to create it, one with an example original poem, and one you can project on the whiteboard. Includes a printable ink-friendly version so your students can write each poem on the form. If you use one a day, you will have enough poems to write for a full month, and if you only use one a week, you will have a fun activity for 20 weeks!

The slides have been placed in PowerPoint, so you can also use this as a digital resource in a paperless classroom. Compatible with Microsoft OneDrive. You can easily save as Google Slides for Google Classroom, or students can open in PowerPoint and just add text boxes to write right on the form to create a poem.

This is a great addition to any poetry unit as it has some not so common poetry patterns that your students are sure to enjoy, and a wonderful choice for April - National Poetry Month! You may wish to spread it out and use all year long whenever you need a creative writing activity. Great for a substitute activity or for independent work.
