Description
After researching your Canadian province or territory, invite others to come visit by creating either a brochure or booklet style guide. These research projects work in conjunction with the "Livret de recherche - Canada" series of research readers.
Both styles of project feature note taking sheets for the chosen province or territory and a final copy project for each of the 10 provinces and 3 territories. Gather information about your province or territory in note form, then write complete sentences to talk about each topic. The booklet style also offers space to draw pictures to aid the reader in better understanding each topic.
There are templates for every province and territory included in both versions.
***These are templates only, there is no information provided for each province.***
Included topics:
- map
- flag
- capital
- population
- flower
- bird
- climat
- landscape
- plants and animals
- local First Nations
- natural resources
Helpful tips:
- I often blow up the note taking sheet and the brochure template to 11x17 on the photocopier for my students so that there is more space to write. You can also do this with the booklet style.
- Optionally, have students create a front and back cover to make a book for the booklet style template.
