No prep question word worksheets to help students practice reading and writing question words: who, what, when, where, why, and how. This resource contains a huge variety of worksheets so you can differentiate for your students. The skills included are appropriate for kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students.

Worksheets (50 sheets)

  • draw, write, find, read, build (6x- 1 for each question word)
  • draw, trace, read, write, correct or incorrect (6x- 1 for each question word)
  • write sentences starting with the question words: who, what, when, where, why (1x)
  • partner work- write questions for a partner, switch papers and answer each other's questions (2x)
  • roll and write: roll the dice, read the question word, and write the question word in a sentence (1x)
  • circle the correct question word that will complete the sentence (3x)
  • write a question word in the blank that will complete the sentence (2x)
  • read the answer and write a question that would have that answer (3x)
