RACE DAY - PHONICS 16 Board Games (CVC Words Only) CONSOLIDATION/INTERVENTION

This package has 16 GAME BOARDS and is a great way to practise CVC (short vowel) words. There are eleven separate boards for the short vowels and five mixed vowels for discrimination and consolidation, perfect for differentiation. I have added a BLANK BOARD so you can differentiate even further. All you need are counters and dice to get started. Directions are on the board. I have included a Word List for each board. You can check it out in the PREVIEW. This is an updated product with only CVC words. CCVC/CVCC/CCVCC words are now included in a separate RACE DAY bundle.

My special interest is the foundation skills of literacy and numeracy, so I have developed the games in small, incremental steps to facilitate mastery. There is a carefully developed sequence, but you can use them in the order you prefer. Students play them over and over for fun, not realising they are consolidating the skills they need to progress in reading. For those students who are taking some time to master this level you may be interested in my SORT IT Cards which are more hands-on. There's 185 illustrated CVC words in this set for the most diverse class or there is a shorter version of 45 cards. My PICTURES for Letter Tiles product goes one step further with scaffolding by targeting phonemic awareness which is a critical skill for some students.
