What educators are saying

This is a great guide for teaching SAT math unit by unit. I can tell that the author understands the way the SAT test makers think. That's important! I find that other standard SAT Math prep books might cover the material thoroughly, but not in a way that helps students think like the test maker.

Description

Have you been asked to teach an SAT® math prep class? Or are you making money tutoring students in SAT® math? This 40-page SAT® math booklet provides detailed explanations of the math skills tested on the exam. Broken into 15 chapters, it presents the topics clearly and gives example problems with answer explanations, based on my experience taking more than two dozen College Board SAT® exams. It is designed to serve as a guide for math teachers and tutors who are good at math but not as experienced as I am with specific SAT approaches. It is fairly dense with information but does not give complete homework assignments, so the teacher or tutor will still need to assign supplementary practice problems from other sources such as Kuta software. Depending on the skill level of the students, each chapter could take an hour or a week. Ultimately, the students will need to do real College Board practice tests so that they can work on applying the skills learned in this booklet. Strong math students who are motivated and self-directed could use this booklet to prepare independently for the exam.
