What educators are saying

These are so amazing. I have them hung in my classroom and refer to them all the time. We even used them on an SEL acrostic poem we were creating about Respect.
I love the diversity in all of the photos. Students had a visual of students making good choices and being successful in school.

What is Social Emotional Learning?

Social emotional learning (SEL) is the process for acquiring necessary social and emotional skills for everyday success. These skills include understanding ourselves and our abilities, using self-control, setting goals, maintaining positive relationships, having empathy for others, making positive decisions, and much more. Essentially, social emotional learning skills are life skills, as these are abilities learners need in the classroom, at home, with friends, in future relationships, and beyond.

Why is teaching SEL important?

Social and emotional learning helps teach kids and young adults the skills they need to be successful. Having a foundation for SEL also supports a safe and positive learning environment where all students feel free to share their voices, accept challenges, take risks, and work towards finding their individual path to success.

What skills are targeted?

A - Awareness: I have awareness of my strengths, challenges, emotions, and hopes for the future.

B - Behavior: I think about how my behavior impacts me and others.

C - Choices: I work to make positive choices every day.

D - Diversity: I accept and appreciate others who are different from me.

E - Empathy: I show empathy by thinking about how others might feel.

F - Friendship: I am an honest, caring, and fair friend to others.

G - Goals: I use strategies to work towards my goals and aspirations.

H - Honesty: I show honesty by telling the truth.

I - Integrity: I show integrity by doing the right thing, even if no one is watching.

AND MANY MORE! Please see the preview to check out some of the other letters included.
