Description

Soarin' Through Culture activities are meant to be engaging, culture-rich, social studies and reading activities that you can easily assign to students in Google Forms™ and Google Classroom™. In this pack students explore art exhibits and hot air balloon festivals in both New Mexico and Portugal, comparing the two locations and events that are held there. Students read an article, explore images, and answer comprehension questions on the topic.

SEE PREVIEW FOR FULL DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO ASSIGN TO STUDENTS.

The passages were written for students in grades 3-5 and the comprehension questions are also appropriate for the same grade range.

Through this activity, students are learning about world culture, social studies, while fitting in reading comprehension.

This pack is also self-guided and self-grading. You assign this pack in Google Classroom™ and students will be able to take it from there. They can read, look at the images, and explore the topic, while answering the questions. At the end, students will see his/her score from each of the questions.

This is perfect for distance learning, as you can simply assign this social studies activity on the platform of your choice.

Happy teaching!
