Description
States of Matter: Are you studying states of matter in science? If so, your students will enjoy this fun "states of matter" themed word search!! If your students are like mine, they love these.
In this states of matter themed puzzle, words are found forward, backward, up, down, and diagonal. I would consider it on the challenging side since students are looking for words in all directions and the vocabulary may be more suitable for upper elementary (see the list below).
I use word searches to introduce vocabulary, or even just give it as morning work. They are also great to glue in writing notebooks for future writing topics. Perfect for a sub, too. Have your students pick words from the list to use in a writing activity during science. Use it as a guide to have them share what they have learned about states of matter. How about homework or even to trigger their memory before state testing or a unit test. Use this states of matter word search however you would like in your classroom.
