What educators are saying

We used this resource the day of testing as morning work. It helped keep them calm and decompress as many of them were very anxious the day of testing.
I love that this added a bit of motivation and encouragement for my students before our state testing.

Description

This is a fun and relaxing activity that is perfect for the first day of state testing. Instead of your normal morning work, have students get unpacked and then head to their desk to do some quiet coloring. It will let them express their creativity and calm their nerves. Coloring can be very therapeutic, and most kids could use a little of that during state testing days.

What are Pattern Pictures? They are fun themed pictures with patterns behind the image. When students color the patterns in a variety of different colors, the finished product is whimsical and fun. They can then color the main image that sits in front of the patterns. For the most pep from your pictures, tell your students to use lots of different colors and try not to have two of the same colors touching. Each poster looks unique when finished due to students picking their colors for each section.

There are 5 fun patterned backgrounds, so you can decide whether you want to give students all the same pattern or give them a variety to choose from.

The backgrounds are different but the pictures and sayings are the same on each poster. There are frames on the page that say:

  • Rock the Test
  • Let's Do This
  • I Believe in Me
  • Hard Work Pays Off
  • When you think positive, good things happen.
  • It's My Time to Shine

There is also a blank frame for students to write themselves a little motivational message. They can then sign their name after the message. For example, a child might write something like "Read closely and take your time. I'm going to do a great job!"

These test motivation posters make a fun and colorful bulletin board or hallway display too. Other students in the school can read them and be motivated too.

**Please, ... if you are unsure about anything with the activity or you have questions, I would appreciate if you send me a message before purchasing. I want you to be happy with the activity. :-) Thank you.**

Also, if you ever see that I made a mistake or an error on any pages in any of my packs, please allow me a chance to get it corrected for you. I can usually do so very quickly. I have two sets of eyes look at everything, but we might miss something here or there. It doesn't happen much, but it can happen. Thank you ahead of time! It is greatly appreciated. Just send me a message on my Q and A, and I will get it taken care of.
