Description
This set of activities for use with The Hunger Games movie is perfect if you are supplementing your novel study with the movie follow-up or if you are doing the movie as a stand-alone unit. These lessons are not book v. movie comparisons. Thus, they are unique in that not only are they designed to make the most out of the viewing experience, but also they could be used during reading for differentiating or as a quick review at the end of the novel study - a very flexible product!
Student Experience: Students begin the film unit with either a quick write about the theme or by completing a web quest on the dystopian/utopian genre. Then as they watch, they complete a set of skill-based questions or a characterization graphic organizer. After viewing, you can review and assess with an interactive plot puzzle and multiple choice quiz. Next, if you want to take your learning further, you can dig into one or more of the skill drills included and assign a short writing prompt.
